National Children's Study
Multiagency longitudinal study examining environmental influences on health and development of 100,000 U.S. children from before birth to age 21. First data in 2008.
Pew Internet and American Life Project
Exploring the impact of the Internet on families, communities, work and home, daily life, education, health care, and civic and political life.
Pew Research Center for the People and the Press
Independent opinion research group that studies attitudes toward the press, politics and public policy issues.

Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS)
Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics. Ranking of math and science skills of U.S. youth relative to other countries. Every four years, started in 1995 (next in 2007). Documents the steady decline of M&S skills in the developed world's youth. You have to look carefully to see the long-term decline, I've noticed. They don't like to celebrate it, most likely for political reasons. -JS
